What Tracking Crypto Portfolio does
The Tracking Crypto Portfolio skill provides a comprehensive solution for users looking to monitor their cryptocurrency investments. By leveraging real-time data from the CoinGecko API, it allows users to track the value of their holdings, analyze their portfolio allocations, and assess profit and loss (P&L) metrics. This skill is particularly useful for both casual investors and those who actively manage their cryptocurrency assets, offering insights into market performance and personal investment strategies.
To get started, users need to have Python 3.8 or higher installed, along with the necessary dependencies. The skill requires a JSON file containing the user's cryptocurrency holdings, which can be easily formatted according to the provided guidelines. Once set up, users can execute various commands to retrieve quick summaries, detailed breakdowns, or export their portfolio data in different formats, such as JSON or CSV. This flexibility enables integration with other tools for further analysis or tax reporting.
The skill also includes essential error handling, ensuring that common issues like missing files or API rate limits are addressed with clear guidance. Users can quickly identify and resolve problems, making the experience seamless and efficient. Overall, this skill is a valuable addition for anyone serious about tracking their cryptocurrency investments and understanding their financial positions in the market.
